  • Hawkcombe Wood is a collection of beautiful, blended wools grown in Exmoor amidst the rugged moorlands, with its far reaching costal views. Three local breeds, Exmoor Blueface, Devon Bluefaced Leicester and Devon Wensleydale make up this stunning blend spun by John Arbon in Devon.

The Exmoor Blueface fleece is springy by nature, the Bluefaced Leicester has a wonderfully soft fleece with lots of lustre and the Wensleydale is fine, soft and shiny.

    Colour Matching

If you are planning to knit an item which requires more than one skein - like a sweater, it's highly recommended you alternate skeins.

Why? It helps prevent any noticeable colour changes between skeins.

Even when yarns are dyed in the same pot, skeins can take up the dye differently depending on its position in the dye pot, or how close a skein is to the heat source - even when the yarns are frequently and gently moved around.
